Guillen studied Communication Design at Kunsthochschule Berlin
Weissensee. She gained her first business experience at Design Pur under
Hans Werner Holzwarth.
She moved in 1996 to San Francisco and worked as an Art Director in Silicon
Valley, designing Web sites and Web based applications for companies such
as Adobe, Apple Computer and Bombardier.
In 1998 she started working as a senior designer at Meta Design's interactive
team in San Francisco and contributed to prestigious projects for clients
such as Ernst & Young and Bosch International.
In 1999 Guillen joined Method. Method had been recently founded and gained
quickly an impressive recognition for its high quality of work and its
unique international team of exceptional designers. During this time Guillen
worked as process lead and project director, developing work processes
for a studio of 25 designers in a demanding fast past environment.
Guillen co-founded Array Design in 2001.
In 2007 she started working as a contractor
for FILTER Studio in Seattle. It enabled her to participate in complex
projects for Amazon and Microsoft.
Guillen lives and works with her husband and three children in Northern
California.
