Marianne Guillen studied Communication Design at Kunsthochschule Berlin Weissensee. She gained her first business experience at Design Pur under Hans Werner Holzwarth.

She moved in 1996 to San Francisco and worked as an Art Director in Silicon Valley, designing Web sites and Web based applications for companies such as Adobe, Apple Computer and Bombardier.

In 1998 she started working as a senior designer at Meta Design's interactive team in San Francisco and contributed to prestigious projects for clients such as Ernst & Young and Bosch International.

In 1999 Guillen joined Method. Method had been recently founded and gained quickly an impressive recognition for its high quality of work and its unique international team of exceptional designers. During this time Guillen worked as process lead and project director, developing work processes for a studio of 25 designers in a demanding fast past environment.

Guillen co-founded Array Design in 2001.

In 2007 she started working as a contractor for FILTER Studio in Seattle. It enabled her to participate in complex projects for Amazon and Microsoft.
